Who this policy covers

MLE Consulting Agency runs this website. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean MLE Consulting Agency, and "you" means anyone who visits the site or contacts us through it.

Personal information means anything that identifies you or could be tied back to you. Your name, your email address, and your phone number are personal information. The number of people who read a blog post is not.

This policy covers the website. Work we do for a client is covered by the written agreement for that work, which sets out how we handle that business's data.

What we collect

What you send us

The contact form asks for your name and email address, and lets you add a phone number, your type of business, and a message. Only the name and the email address are required. You can also just email or call us, in which case we have whatever you chose to put in that message.

Right now the contact form has no server behind it. Submitting it opens a message in your own email app, already filled in, which you then send yourself. Nothing is stored anywhere until that email arrives with us.

If you ask for one of our guides, we have your email address and the name of the guide you asked for. If you sign up for our occasional email updates, we have your address until you unsubscribe. Every one of those emails carries an unsubscribe link, and we honor it.

What your browser sends on its own

Like nearly every website, ours is served by a web host that keeps standard access logs. Those logs typically record an internet protocol (IP) address, the page requested, the time, and the browser used. They exist to keep the site running and to spot abuse. We do not use them to build a profile of you, and we do not try to match them to a person.

Analytics

This site currently runs no analytics and no tracking scripts. It sets no cookies of its own, and no advertising or measurement company is loaded on these pages. That is a statement about how the site is built today, not a permanent promise. If we do add analytics, we will update this policy and say plainly what it measures before it goes live.

Booking and chat

There is no booking calendar and no chat window on this site at the moment. When we add them they will be supplied by outside companies, they will collect what you type into them under their own privacy policies, and this page will be updated to name them.

The ROI calculator

The calculator on this site does its arithmetic inside your browser. The figures you type are never sent to us, and we never see them. You can close the tab and nothing survives. The one thing worth knowing: the calculator can read starting figures from the web address, so a link you have shared with your numbers already filled in carries those numbers in the link itself.

Cookies

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, usually so it can recognize you later. This site sets none of its own, and loads nothing that sets one. There is no consent banner here because there is nothing to consent to. If that changes, this section changes with it.

How we use what you send

We use it for four things, and only these four:

• To reply to you, and to have the conversation you started.
• To prepare and deliver the free audit, or the guide you asked for.
• To do the work, if you decide to hire us.
• To keep our own records straight, and to meet legal and tax obligations.

If you signed up for email updates, we also use your address for that, until you tell us to stop.

What we never do

We do not sell personal information. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to a data broker. We do not use what you tell us about your business to build a list that someone else can buy. We have never done this, and this policy commits us to not starting.

Who else can see it

Email has to travel through an email provider, so our provider carries your message the way the post office carries a letter. Beyond that, personal information reaches an outside company only in three cases:

• A tool we use to run the business, such as a form service, a scheduling tool, or a system for keeping track of customers. Each one only gets what it needs to do its job.
• A professional advisor, such as an accountant or a lawyer, where they need it and are bound to keep it confidential.
• Where the law requires it, or where it is needed to protect someone's safety or our legal rights.

If the business is ever sold or merged, information could transfer with it. If that ever happens, this policy travels with your information, and we will say so on this page.

How long we keep it

We keep what you send us for as long as we need it to answer you and to do the work, and then for as long as our records and tax obligations require. Inquiries that never turn into work do not need to be kept forever. If you want yours gone sooner, ask.

Your choices

Wherever you live, you can ask us to do any of the following, and we will not charge you or treat you differently for asking:

• Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
• Correct anything that is wrong.
• Delete it, unless a law requires us to keep it.
• Stop sending you email updates.
• Stop using it for anything but answering a question you already asked.

Email Matthew@mleca.com and say which one you want. We may need to check that the request really came from you before we act on it. We aim to deal with these quickly, and we will tell you what we have done.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights under a state or national privacy law. If you believe we have got something wrong, tell us first and give us a chance to fix it. You can also raise it with the relevant regulator where you live.

Keeping it safe

We use reputable providers, keep accounts locked down, and limit who can reach your information to the people who need it. We will not pretend that anything sent over the internet is perfectly secure, because no honest business can. What we can promise is that we do not collect more than we need, and that we do not keep what we no longer need.

Children

This site is for business owners. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

When we change how this site handles information, we change this page, and we change the effective date at the top. Meaningful changes get a short note, in ordinary words, of what moved, not a silent edit.

Where we are, and which law applies

We operate from the United States, and information you send us is handled there. This policy is governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. In plain English: if there is ever a dispute about this policy, New York law is the law that decides it.
